To join the trend our client Swatch decided to launch a line of watches with payment features allowing their customers to forget about carrying their purses and payment cards everywhere.
Swatch also decided that reinforcing the watches with a contemporary mobile application for better payment management would be a perfect solution to boost customers' satisfaction.
Relying on our previous related projects, such as Swatch, we immediately plunged into development and presented SwatchPAY!

Solution
The core of Swatch new watches line lies in the implementation of an NFC chip.
NFC (Near Filed Communication) is a technology that provides wireless communication between devices. For the past years NFC has become widespread in FinTech.
For instance, when you use ‘tap to pay’ method in any store, using your mobile phone with your bank card linked to it, you use NFC.
Adding this technology to smart watches with classic design was rather innovative. However, it was a necessity for the users to quickly switch between their cards and track and manage payment history.
Our mobile app has become a solution. Users now can quickly and conveniently link all their credit cards to the app and connect it to a smart watch. As a result, Swatch customers are able to use wristwatch for contactless payment with the possibility to choose the payment method using only their smartphones.

Payment cards linking
SwatchPAY! uses the same principles as most mobile payment apps. The user can link and relink their bank cards, so all of them are available for usage via smartwatch. In addition, the app stores the user transaction history, providing information on all their payments.
Data security
While developing the app, we paid close attention to user data security, using a variety of techniques, including tokenization and encryption. It allows to protect sensitive data, such as card number, replacing it with non-sensitive tokens and making it unreadable for non-authorized parties during its transfer and storage.
Cross-platform compatibility
Our mobile app was developed for both iOS and Android. No matter, if you’re a Google Play or AppStore user, as SwatchPAY! is available for all, considering that you can use it not only on smartphones but also on tablets.
